PictoSearch is built with privacy in mind. We collect minimal, anonymous analytics to improve the app. We never collect personal information, and your pictogram data stays on your device.

Overview

PictoSearch is a free pictogram search and customization tool that downloads the ARASAAC catalog to your device for offline use. This policy explains what data the app collects and how it's used.

Data We Don't Collect

PictoSearch does not collect any of the following:

  • Personal identification information (name, email, phone)
  • Location data
  • Device identifiers for advertising
  • Search queries or usage patterns linked to your identity
  • Photos or camera roll content
  • Any data from other apps on your device

Anonymous Analytics

PictoSearch uses TelemetryDeck to collect anonymous, aggregated analytics. TelemetryDeck is privacy-first: no personal data, no cookies, no cross-app tracking. The analytics include:

  • App launch events (to measure active users)
  • Which languages are downloaded (to prioritize support)
  • Feature usage counts (search, batch save, customization)
  • Onboarding completion rates

Local Storage

All pictogram data (metadata, images, preferences) is stored locally on your device. Data never leaves your device unless you save pictograms to your camera roll.

Network Requests

PictoSearch connects to the internet only for:

  • Downloading the ARASAAC pictogram catalog
  • Fetching customized pictogram variants from the ARASAAC API
  • Sending anonymous analytics to TelemetryDeck

No personal data is transmitted in any of these requests.

No Account Required

PictoSearch does not require an account, sign in, or any personal information. All features are available immediately after downloading the catalog.

Children's Privacy

PictoSearch does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The app is designed for people of all ages and operates without requiring any personal data.

Third-Party Services

No other third-party SDKs, advertising networks, or tracking services are used.
